The idea morphed several times, the initial idea was a tree wrapping around the girl, with glowing orbs of light, kind of like musical notes moving upwards, which were the owls. I changed it into a horizontal left to right format and tried to integrate everything into the pattern, and give each element its own life and place in the rhythm of the picture. I had to explore a lot of new areas of artmaking that I don't have maps for, going in blind a lot of the time, but that's where the real fun is anyway.

thank you so much. A lot of really kind words, I appreciate it.
I would say it's best to learn composition as much as you can and practice as long as possible. I work on paper, and start in pencil, then I add pastel and coloured pencils on top.
